Procedure duration
Chin liposuction commonly takes 45–90 minutes, with longer time when combined with surgery.
Jawline and neck definition

Target localised fat beneath the chin to improve definition of the jawline and neck.
Clear overview
Chin liposuction removes selected deposits of fat beneath the chin through small access points. It can improve the transition between the lower face and neck when skin has enough elasticity to adapt to the new contour.

Possible suitability
Safety screening
This list is not exhaustive. Suitability and contraindications require confirmation by the treating clinician.
Individual decision-making
The assessment distinguishes subcutaneous fat from loose skin, prominent glands, muscle bands and skeletal proportions. Dr Husnain explains when liposuction alone is likely to be insufficient.
Step-by-step overview
The exact technique, anaesthesia and setting depend on your examination and agreed treatment plan. A typical procedure may include:
Chin liposuction commonly takes 45–90 minutes, with longer time when combined with surgery.
Local anaesthetic fluid with sedation or general anaesthesia may be used according to extent and setting.
This overview is educational, not a personalised operative plan. Your consultation and consent discussion will explain the technique proposed for you.
After your procedure
A compression garment may be recommended. Bruising, swelling, firmness and temporary numbness can occur. Definition improves progressively rather than immediately after surgery.
Bruising and swelling may still be visible and compression may be advised.
Activity increases in stages after review.
Temporary firmness and swelling can take longer to resolve.
These are general planning ranges, not a personal clearance date. Recovery differs between patients, and your written instructions and Dr Husnain’s advice take priority over general information online.
Result development
Definition develops over one to three months as swelling and firmness resolve. Ageing and weight change continue.

Some skin contraction may occur, but liposuction is primarily a fat-removal procedure. Significant laxity may require a different plan.
Removed fat cells do not grow back, but remaining cells can enlarge with weight change and ageing continues to affect the area.
They are commonly placed beneath the chin and sometimes near the ear, depending on technique.
The surgeon sets the schedule according to swelling, technique and skin.
Removing volume can reveal laxity when elasticity is poor.
A well-planned operation is usually one session, but residual contour or laxity may later need treatment.
Yes in selected profiles, because fat and skeletal projection affect the jawline differently.
